Avventura Barrocca
UNIO MUNDI
When we listen to one another, we discover that the threads of our histories, our griefs, and our joys are deeply shared. This is the message at the heart Avventura Barocca, a diverse collective of artists from Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and Latin America. Our wish is to demonstrate that our shared humanity is far greater than any borders. Far more than focusing on dualities, we invite our audience to a "shared table" where every artists (specializing in historically informed performance and mastering Oriental music) brings his or her own unique flavor and weaves a rich tapestry of cultural plurality.
Since music is the most powerful bond between human beings, we have designed this program as a journey of connection. It begins with the early Hebrew polyphony of Salomone Rossi and the exquisite vulnerability of Barbara Strozzi, travels to the exotic flourishes of Cemil Bey’s ‘‘Çeçen Kizi“ and Lully’s Marche pour la Cérémonie des Turcs, and continues to our unique arrangement of Vivaldi’s In furore iustissimae irae, which joins the Baroque and Oriental traditions. The program culminates with the moving songs of Aviva Amir, through which the different threads of traditions, cultures, and styles come into one.
