Maite Alberola was born in 1982 in Valencia (Spain), and graduated from the Conservatory “Joaquin Rodrigo” of Valencia in voice and viola. She is currently studying with Enedina Lloris (soprano) and Darrell Babidge (baritone). She has attended courses and master classes given by Jerzy Artysz, Antonio Carangelo, Niccoletta Freni, Paolo Barbacini and Montserrat Caballe, amongst others.
Ms. Alberola made her operatic debut performing the role of Countess in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro. She has performed roles in Così fan tutte (Fiordiligi), Don Giovanni (Donna Elvira), Il Re Pastore (Aminta), Il tutore burlato by Martin y Soler (Violante), I Pagliacci (Nedda), The Magic Flute (Pamina ), Falstaff (Alice Ford), The Tales of Hoffmann (Antonia), Carmen (Micaela), La Bohème (Mimi), Orfeo ed Euridice by Gluck (Euridice), Romeo et Juliette (Juliette), Don Giovanni (Donna Elvira) La Traviata (Violetta), Otello (Desdemona), Das Rheingold (Freia), Die Fledermaus (Rosalinde), Carmina Burana by Carl Orff, Faure's Requiem, Mozart's Requiem, and Brahms’ Requiem.
Ms. Alberola has performed at the Palau de la Música in Valencia, the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, Teatro de La Coruna, Palau de la Música Catalana, Prince Felipe Auditorium in Oviedo, Teatro Campoamor of Oviedo, Teatro Real in Madrid, Teatro Maestranza Sevilla, Les Arts Theatre Reina Sofia in Valencia, Zagreb Theatre, Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa, and the Stattsoper in Berlin.
She has worked with the following conductors: Marzio Conti, Guerassim Voronkof, Lorin Mazzel, Placido Domingo, A. Ros-Marba, García Asensio, Giuliano Carella, Michael Boder, Fabio Luisi, and Josep Pons. Directors she has worked with include Franco Zeffirelli, Carlus Padrissa, Emilio Sagi and Jean Louis Grinda.
Recent engagements include role of Alice in Falstaff for the Saito Kinen Festival in Japan. In 2015 she performed the role of Lauretta in Gianni Schicchi at the Teatro Real in Madrid with Woody Allen, credited as the director. She also performed a duet concert with Placido Domingo at the Teatro Real in Madrid, singing from La Traviata. In the 2016/2017 season she will debut the role of Marguerite in Faust.
